This music lexicon is a tool for looking up the musical terms as are used and/or known in the classical sheet music notation.

You can use this tool by entering the words or musical terms you wish explained in the input field of the search form and click the 'Go' button, after which the results will be displayed in the box here above. The respective words/terms you entered will be displayed at the beginning of each explanation square in the most top-right corner.

You can click in the middle column of the explanation box, where the words at the left are shown in an explanatory offical term or a contextual sentence. As an instructional aid the clicked middle selection will be shown in the input field of the search form.

Click on a character on the characters bar, and a result set of musical terms starting with that character will be displayed. For desktop users: When you hover your mouse on a character, a corresponding dropdown menu will be shown ( if applicable ) which allows you to 'jump ahead' within that characters collection.
